The Dance of the Dead is a Ghost House Pictures Production. The main characters are Jimmy (Jared Kusnitz), Lindsey (Greyson Chadwick), Stephen (Chandler Darby) and Kyle (Justin Welborn). The director is Gregg Bishop, and the writer is Joe Ballarini. The casting on all of the leading stars, except Jared Kusnitz, was done out of Georgia. Georgia is where the movie takes place, so this is a great tidbit of information for Dance of the Dead fans. With a low budget and limited resources, the cast and crew were pushed hard and payed little. According to the cast and crew, the director was a very good director and everyone loved doing the movie.
The basic plot for the movie starts at the Cosa High School Prom. The prom is everything for the group of teenagers that are going. Things go wrong though when prom night is unexpectedly and tragically interrupted. The local graveyard, which is next to a nuclear power plant, becomes the sudden source of zombies. As zombies start invading the town, a group of teenage outcasts try to survive. With some interesting plot turns, and a zombie on zombie kissing scene, the teenagers and a few surviving adults save the world from a zombie outbreak.
The Dance of the Dead is a comedy/horror flick. It is supposed to be funny and gory at the same time. This Dance of the Dead movie is not to be confused with the 2005 Masters of Horror version starring Robert Englund. It has the same title and the same basic premise. The 2005 Dance of the Dead movie is about zombies also. There have been many different opinions about this movie, but the fact is that with what little the producers and director had to work with, the graphics and special effects turned out top notch.
